The Path Beyond the Bend
The bend in the path is what first caught my attention.
Beyond it, the trail disappears beneath a sky that promised rain. Standing there, I couldn't see what waited ahead. I only knew that the path continued somewhere beyond my view.
The more I looked at the photograph, the more I realized it wasn't really about the storm.
It was about the bend.
How often do we let a single bend become the whole story?
A difficult conversation.
A disappointment.
A season of uncertainty.
A decision we wish we didn't have to make.
From where we stand, it can feel as though the road ends where our vision does.
But it doesn't.
The path continues, whether we can see it or not.
For much of my life, I believed that what waited beyond the bend would determine whether I should keep walking. I wanted certainty before I took the next step.
Life has taught me something quieter.
The bends never disappear.
There will always be another place where I cannot see what comes next. Another season that asks me to trust what hasn't yet been revealed.
Perhaps peace isn't found in knowing what lies beyond the bend.
Perhaps it is found in knowing why we continue walking.
The storm may come.
The path may turn again.
But neither changes the direction.

The path is bigger than one bend.
